I got an invite to go to France to see the Catacombs and this Quarry , as I don't drive I jumped at the chance
to see it. it was a good weekend everyone was friendly , in fact it seems the French under ground where much better
than those above it.

The Hennocque...
very nice little limestone mine in kent, unfortunately it has been backfilled in most places to leave about three foot headroom, which means a lot of crawling\ducking as you make your way round, not really that photogenic and it suffers from a bit of mist in places, further history here...
Early morning start to visit this lovely wee mine, for once access was very easy, parked a short distance away, no steep climbs to get into it, perfect for a Sunday!
Very little information on this mine has been found so far, but it was working before 1868 and was still in production in 1877...
