Bishopgarth was first built in 1891 for the Bishop to live in. In 1946 the site became the West Yorkshire Metropolitan Police Training School. The classrooms were built in 1952 and the new block added in 1969 (the accommodation). There were 14 course's for training police men/women...

The 21-hectare site was used by the Ministry of Defence as an Army training camp until October 2004 when it became surplus to requirements.
The site had accommodated up to 1,000 personnel at its peak along with tanks, mechanized vehicles and a small arms firing range.

Again, I posted this in the Industrial section because joinery training still seems industrial to me.
It was abandoned in 2009 after the company running the training facility went bust. I managed to explore the place during December 2010.

Had some time to kill this morning so I decided to go for a walk around the MOD training area at Reinden Woods.
Part of the East Kent Dry training area acquired by the MOD in 1938 for training leading up to WW2.
This place is littered with open brick bunker type things I found at least 10...
Again visted with Thurisaz(his camera ran out of batteries within seconds of switching it on *giggles*) & Shadow
