I just happened to be up near here on holiday with the family.
It was too good an opportunity to miss so I slipped away for the morning and gave the place the once over.
An former Victorian Mansion, that was a school for a number of years then the head offices for an international company. They moved out in 2002 and it has been empty since.
Theres not much to see other than the main reception hall but I have to say it is one of the most impressive derelict buildings I have been inside. The lower part of the main staircase was removed to enable football matches to be played on the ground floor!
At the time of visiting it was pretty easy to get in to, although it has since been well secured and is monitored with 24 hour cctv.
