After completing arriving at our first explore (Mon G) we were well behind our schedule, but was told we could not miss this site out. I was at first not convinced but the group vote decided to go, oh my how wrong I was!! This place was stunning!
Former Monastery run by Nun's which closed many years ago and now planned to be mostly demolished apart from the chapel to make way for apartments sadly.
The Chapel itself, sadly the only part to be left.
Doors, Corridors and Stairs GALORE!!!!
Small Theatre
Most rooms had pictures left of the Nun's who worked and lived here.
Some chumpter painted over this!! Also a lovely bathroom.
Up in the attic floors, where dormitories and bedrooms, awesome too see them all still here.
A very colourful dorm room.
Oooo look a spiral staircase (PRON)
A which in the attic for lifting good to the upper levels
Out on the balcony, was pretty high!
Where the windmills are situated, is Germany!
It was time for me n Baron to hit the highest point, on top of the chapel is a spire, and this dodgy very high ladder into the spire.
The view back down. and a few from the top.
Time to cool off and head for the basement, it was sooo lovely and cold down here, was about 36 degrees outside.
Sadly not a morgue, only fridges, which still had the original contents written on the side, some 40 years old.
Foot washing for all the religious folk.
The butchers room, complete with meat hook on the ceiling.
A couple more quick shots before leaving and heading off to get some well needed food.
Thanks for looking.
