Having failed at A couple of behemoths in the area I was able to see inside this smaller chapel. PP granted in 2017 for conversion to holiday home ( but don’t tell the Sons of Glyndwr, that takes me back!).
Standing in an area of ONB
Capel Bethania Was a Methodist Chapel built in 1875 and the Rev. Tom Nefyn Williams used to preach there (the commemorative plaque not my photograph was on the chapel's wall but it has now been moved)
The chapel and ancillary vestry appear in their current form on the First Edition of the Ordnance Survey Map of 1889.
The inscription on the plaque translates to:
He was a candle shedding light and burning down
The Reverend Tom Nefyn Williams
1895-1958
A native of Pistyll
Quarryman
Benefactor
Evangelist
