Ok, so I wasn't going to bother with putting a report up from this place but recently, I had a couple of people asking if there was a report anywhere I had done. So here I am . . .
I wasn't planning on doing any explores this month but after receiving a message from H1971 asking if I fancied hitting a few places the following morning, I thought what the hell and joined her. After a quick look about, we soon found ourselves inside and I guess one of the first things I noticed was how bare it looked from what I had seen elsewhere. With most rooms being completely empty or having very little in, we set about trying to capture things the best we could.
The Carehome provided nursing and care for about 30 people. Previously the building was a residential dwelling but in 1993 was converted to a nursing and carehome. From what I've read elsewhere the carehome closed its doors in 2011, after a fire safety inspection demanded that 48 mahogany doors were to be replaced. The owner requested financial help from the local services to do this, however the request was denied, thus resulting in the closure.
All images are bit random compared to previous reports, so I apologise for this . . .
Some fantastic fireplaces in here . . .
There was quite a few of these in one of the back rooms . . .
one of the tv rooms on the ground floor . . .
but the best bit for me was the staircase . . .
Cheers
