This cycle track built in 1905 (renewed in the 1960s) is the oldest existing 400m-concrete-track of Germany. Up to 15.000 visitors were not unusual when death defying cyclists were racing at a speed of up to 100km/h through the curves that reach a height of 6m.
In the 1980s the interest in cycle racing faded an dthe stadium was used for several other purposes (tennis, concerts etc.). The last race took place in 2017.
