Since it was no longer profitable, this power plant was taken off the grid in early 2012 and only kept as an emergency reserve.
In 2018, after more than 40 years of operation, it was finally shut down.

The 8 diesel generators, each with 18,000 hp, had an overall electrical output of 86.7 MW.
