This is an abandoned diesel fuelled power station in Belgium with black start capability. Black start means it could be used to restore power in an electric power station at short notice in the event of a major power failure or blackout basically. A few of us had a look at this around a year ago but the only way we were getting in was by abseiling from the roof and we didn't have any gear with us, or the skills more to the point. A year later I returned with @extreme_ironing, @Maniac and @Merryprankster and this time we went better prepared. Awesome place, far better than we'd expected. The control room was the highlight but loads of other cool stuff in there too. Comedy moment of the day was when I tried getting the attention of one of the others by shouting 'Ello' in a French accent and Maniac completely freaked out thinking someone was in there looking for us. He still thinks there's someone in there looking for us now! It was ME ok!!! Hats off to him and extreme_ironing for mission impossibling it in and opening the door for the rest of us. Afterwards we rewarded ourselves with some well deserved Belgian brown meat in brown sauce before taking Maniac to get himself electrocuted elsewhere
