The Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls) is world famous and has become a tourist attraction. An island in Mexico City.
Almost 1000 dolls, some without eyes or limbs, were hung in the trees there.
They were originally supposed to drive away the ghost of a girl who was said to have drowned near the island.
Today there are paid boat trips to the island several times a day and entry is required to enter the island.
In reference to this island, someone also hung a number of mutilated dolls in the trees in a small piece of forest.
