I've had a few pops at this in the past but with no success, after reading that it's due to be demolished this month I decided to go all or nothing and check every square inch of it for access. Getting in is a bit sketchy but once inside you're golden and it's worth the scramble
And all the bits I didn't get pics of are on this video
Fernilee was the first of the two reservoirs in the Goyt Valley. It was constructed in 1938 by Stockport Water Corporation, now part of North West Water, and cost £480,000. When full, the reservoir holds 4,900 million litres of water which supplies drinking water to Stockport and the surrounding towns. The water treatment works below the dam were constructed using stone from the demolished Errwood Hall.
