Going back a few years now but as most of u know this was a great industrial location that is no more so thought I would share.

I was down that way mountain biking for a long weekend so thought I would "pop" in here before returning home, after 2 or 3 hours in there with fried legs from biking I was struggling to get up to the higher levels but loved it none the less.

Fullers earth was known for its absorbent properties which was mainly used as cat litter.
In 1954 the works, now employing 780 men, were bought by chemical company Laporte Industries.
Interestingly in the 70's the quarried land at Redhill was used for several alien landscapes in the Doctor Who series (sorry I didnt get any pics of that)
The quarry is now being used as landfill & the complex has stood empty since 2004.

Some places seem to have that effect...
Indeed so, no matter how far they fall to decay or vandalism, to name a few would be Shoreham Cem, NSRI, and so on.
shame u cant now as Im sure u are aware its now flattened!
Yeah, remember getting told by a friend who went for a quick nose and was unpleasantly surprised to see very little left.
