Great Britain Gaddesden Water Tower - 2016

So a visit here about 6yr ago when I didnt really know how to take a pic but heres what I got.

Cant find any history of this place, its a substantial tower & pump house maybe to supply the local villages? Or was there a grand hall once nearby?
Whatever its purpose this pl;ace was a nice wander with some lovely old bits left to see.
