Hellingly Hospital (visited 2008)2013

Designed by GT Hine and built in 1897,East Sussex County Asylum opened in 1903.The concept being that by being set in the countryside,patients would benefit by the isolation and quiet surroundings.The brickwork and chimneys are superb.Hospital closed 1994.

We visited November 2008 and returned several times more in 2009.Probably my favourite asylum ever due its extremely relaxed atmosphere.

That was Hellingly..every time I visited,the sun shone..I truly miss this place,and remember our times here fondly

Awesome pics luv the ivy coming through the window, one of my fave places to visit and that hall ceiling is stunning, nice to see the it again.
