Now, why on earth this is called Maison Dave, I have no idea, but some of these names, you just don't question... Personally I would have called it Maison du Cheval, vis-a-vis the blindingly obvious fact that the ex-residents were well into their horses... Now... being a horse lover myself, the moment someone pointed out a derp looking saddle, I was off... While everyone else faffed about shooting inside (there were six of us by now, we'd bumped into two other explorers from the Netherlands earlier in the day), I spend the majority of my time out in the yard... They clearly did a lot of driving with their horses, with a fair few harnesses and bridles with blinkers littered about, and whether they'd just taken them when it was abandoned, or someone else had got in and taken them, (Tack is expensive stuff) I couldn't find a single full regular bridle... Having found a picture of a foal lying on the table, they must have once bred their own there too. It broke my heart to see a yard now covered with ivy and a grooming kit left never to be used again...
But anyway, enough horsey jargon and rambling.... Safe to say I went a bit horse mad in here, and may well have held the group up, as they were all packing up and I had to whizz round and get a few more of the actual bedrooms...
We tried our best to get the shutters open in two pretty nice rooms downstairs, but to no avail
From the amount of post flooding through the door, this place had been left a pretty long time as well.
Anyway, on with some pictures (there's a fair few... Sorry.. lol)
