Hidden underneath an abandoned hotel in the mountains of Serbia lies this carefully concealed military operations bunker. The inconspicuous appearance of the hotel was the perfect disguise for what went on underneath it. Today the hotel is completely trashed but if you look around carefully there is a huge blast door which takes you underneath. The bunker spans two storeys, and contains some telecommunications switchboards as well as a nice map room. There is very little information about the place online but I believe it was an advanced command post of the military police from 1994 - 1995, during the break up of Yugoslavia.
Visited with @sids. I'd love to say we found this ourselves but we were actually taken here by some friends, so I'm very grateful to them for showing us such a cool spot. Just goes to show that no matter how much research you do, you can't beat a bit of local knowledge! Incidentally, the largest of the switchboards had been overturned by vandals, and it was extremely heavy, so it was lucky there was a few of us to set it upright again. My back was not happy the following day though! Anyway, on to the photos.
Thanks for looking.
