Monastery Mont G - JULY 2013

Morning all,

We arrived here mid morning and struggled to find a way in. There was a new unit built around the Monastery so cars were coming and going. After finding quite a public way in we wandered around this impressive place. Downstairs had water issues so it was quite slippery to walk around in places.

This beautiful monastery was built in the beginning of the 20th century. Since the 1960's it was in use as what they called a ‘reflection home’. It has been closed for more than 10 years. It will be renovated into service apartments for the elderly soon. That's all I know about the history.

Superb Timster, quite enjoyed this place, preferred wandering around the place as the Chapel was full of splorers trying to get shots in. Quality photos mate.
