Introduction:
My first explore and first post on here, I really enjoyed wandering around and taking in the atmosphere.

History:
Also called “House of The Damned” this place is really nice, very remote and no roads or paths leading up to it. Its very peaceful as well, all I could hear was the curtains flapping in the wind upstairs. Apparently it got this nickname because there was a newspaper inside announcing a tour of “The Damned” (a gothic punk band) which another explorer found.

It was part of a larger estate and is thought to have been built somewhere around 1875 and seems to have been run by the same family (the Sandars) right up until it became abandoned.

Sorry to those who aren't keen on HDR, first time I've ever tried it and I've tried to keep it quite subtle. It doesn't really suit some shots but was worth trying out!

Cheers for posting, the HDR is a bit much for my personal liking if I'm being honest but that's just my personal opinion, no offence intended! Nice to read a bit of history about the place as quite often these sort of locations come with no info whatsoever (y)

Thanks chaps. I'm not too taken with them myself actually!

I wanted to try taking three exposures and merging / tweaking them. But its not subtle enough. In hindsight I probably should have played around with a different subject rather than testing it out here.

But the good thing is - it means I have to do another explore to take better ones!

Not usually into my derpy derps, but I like the nostalgia of this.

Have to agree about the HDR, allow your pictures to stay natural to capture the beauty of the place.

Good first report. Got anymore to post up?

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your first post. Looks like a nice little explore. Lots of nice little bits left over. I too am not a HDR fan, personally I don't think your pics need it. They are good pics, you have allready focused on getting a good shot and that is enough in my opinion. I hope I appear constructive. Look forward to more reports from you :)

Like the look of this little place. Thanks for sharing this your first report, onwards and upwards from here!

Don't want to bang on about HDR but just to add some constructive feedback - as mentioned by @Urbexbandoned your eye for

subject matter is great. I regularly bracket 3 shots (sometimes more) and when merged together it can give a representation of what the eye can see and most cameras struggle to when you have such dramatic light and shade in these places. Just one tip - subtle tone mapping ;)
