Visited as part of the Italian Derp Tour 2019.
I didn't even know the name for this place when we visited and it has taken several hours of research to identify it and then find some history. I have to say it was a cracking place and a huge thanks to our travelling companion Mel for adding this one to the map. It has taken me a while to post this one for reasons you will read shortly.
I love a nice easy access and this was an absolute walk in, so much so a few young locals on bikes spotted us going in (our super stealth-mode invisible cloaks were broken obviously) and followed us in. Not that we knew that at the time, we just heard someone coming in and so ducked into the nearest room and peeked out the door. Once we realised it was them Bigjobs wandered over to have a chat and they were just curious as to what was inside. They had seen us come in so thought they would come and have a mooch too. They wandered off and left us too it and I didn't give them another thought till about an hour later when we were still dicking about taking pics not far from the entrance and I stepped out of a room and scared the shit out of them lol.
Anyway they left and we spent a good few hours mooching about and enjoying the explore.
Now I have never been a paranormal believer and those of you on my Facebook will know I am now a convert and will have already read why. So I'm going to share this real-life experience with you here and whilst I know this is not a paranormal site and it is normally unacceptable to post such shit on here, trust me you will be a believer too after this.
We were near the morgue when we first heard it, a strange low ooooooh sound, assuming it was the locals who had followed us in we didn't think anything of it.
As we got closer to the morgue the noise got louder and we heard the occasional banging. Again not thinking anything of it we continued to explore.
Just as we came out the morgue we met were by a malevolent entity, its anger permeated the air making it difficult to breathe, the evil feeling emanating from it cloaked us like the scent of death. Suddenly it emitted a terrifying screech and launched itself at us. Scared witless we ran for our lives as it chased us down corridor after corridor.
Hurling ourselves around a corner we found ourselves trapped outside the chapel, we were cornered, the chapel was locked and the only way out was to head straight back into the clutches of the evil spirit chasing us. Panic-stricken we waited as we heard its screeching getting closer. Suddenly it appeared in the doorway, it was there long enough for me to catch it on camera, but then it was as if jebus himself had decided to save us as with an ear-splitting shriek it stopped and seemed to implode on itself.
Terrified, we waited for our nerves to calm and heartbeats to slow, none of us able to believe what had just happened. It was starting to get dark and none of us wanted to spend any time in there in the dark with that waiting for us. Gathering our stuff we hightailed it the hell out of there, in a style not dissimilar to those paranormal explorers in a recent "chased by a nun" video.
As you will see from the evidence below the dead walk amongst us.....
Okay okay Im sorry but y'know it just had to be done
Anyway although I spent hours researching to find the history, I ended up with a 200+ page PDF that translated horrifically so you are getting the bare minimum, if you want to read the whole thing the link is here, just be warned it does not translate well and is sooooooo boring. (and no I have not translated it for you, you can all find out how to translate PDFs yourself, I had to and Im all for upskilling others lol)
History
The old Ospedale Degli Infermi has been a general hospital from the beginning of the 19th century until 2014, when a new hospital was inaugurated in another part of the city. The hospital was definitively closed in August 2015. The oldest buildings were an adaptation of a former Augustinian convent. The 20th-century hospital monoblock was inaugurated on May 19, 1939, by Benito Mussolini. Today only a few glimpses from the surrounding streets can be seen of the old hospital.
Ok here have a few non-paranormal photos too
Thats all hope you enjoyed
