History;
Pilkington Glass was found in 1826 in St Helens-The Doncaster site opened in 1922, the factory is located in the town of Kirk Sandall. Pilkingtos had a large workforce and the small town provided housing for the workers. There is even a pub nearby named after the factory called 'The Glassmaker'. The factory closed down in 2008.
Explore;
Explored with -Raz-, Hydro3xploric and 2 non-members. This is one of the biggest places ive seen covering a 1000ft end to end! The entrance to the building lets just say it was a surprise (and whatever you do don't wear converse like I did) however, once inside just surrounded by cranes, space, lots of red dust and if it's like anything like our explore you my even see a guy in a high vis "Looking for his tools".
Overall, worth an explore.
Cheers for reading!
