2013:
I believe bastards and thieves have driven this place further into the ground
2011:
So kicking off a few urbexes with another epic Welsh adventure with the mrs. Set in the lovely valleys of North Wales, Pool Park is a lovely mooch. We spent a good few hours in here, and kudos to her for finding an open access point.
Formally part of the Bagot estate, Pool Parcs Elizabethan dates back to 1826. The Tates from the sugar company, Tate and Lyle moved in some years later. In about 1930 the surrounding farms and land were sold on.
It was used as a home for the mentally infirm from 1937, with the last residents leaving in 1988, the last activity I can find is in about 1992.
We headed to Denbigh afterwards but the weather sent us home...
The EPIC staircase took my breath away!
