Evening all,
Back to Belgium and this power plant was on our list during our last minute 56 hour trip. Apparently it was being demolished slowly in the week and was quiet on the weekend. So that's what we did, we visited it before we went back to the ferry which fell on the Sunday.
After a bit of map reading, we found the right way to walk to it. Unfortunately, it was a good mile or so around a canal, boating lake and a golf course in order to get to the partly demolished bridge and in.
After a bit of wandering and looking around, we found a way into the turbine hall and spent the majority of our time here as this was where a lot of the site was still intact.
On further inspection, one of the turbines had been stripped and the blades were already downstairs ready for recycling. There seemed to be a hive of activity in the week here so we spent a good hour or so, wandering the hall and photographing what we could.
A selection of the photos from this location are below.
Thanks for looking in.
