Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Sept 15

Evening All,

Been awhile since i posted a report but seeing as everyone else is going here, i thought it would be rude not to show my face. MrDan and Sweetpea were already there and i was at work. So i booked afew hours holiday at work to go check this place out haha.

Bit of history:

Opened in 1963 by Queen Elizabeth II, The QEII hospital served Welwyn Garden City; a town famous for Quakers and Shredded Wheat, for 52 years. Operations started to wind down as a brand spanking new £30,000,000 hospital was built next door to the aging 1960s hospital in the city and its Accident and Emergency Department was closed in 2014.

I did enjoy walking around here as although no actual decay, there was alot to see.

I'm loving the lay out of the fridges, the hospital doesn't really do it for me with no decay but I am liking that chair in the last shot

As Hospitals go this as a good one on the map and as so pristine in areas is almost like an infiltration.

We climbed the hoaring last year and landed straight in front of what was named Miss Piggy, a fat and foul mouthed secca who all thought was going to have a heart attack and bust some blood vessels as turned purple lol.

Good to see as some cool shots there.

As for Welwyn Garden City; a town famous for Quakers and Shredded Wheat, thats another still doable and funny memories and will say no more

Nice set of pictures there DJ! I wonder will it be allowed to decay for a bit before demo or conversion. Would be cool to see that place with a bit of peely action
