Another explore with the long suffering,but she declined the excitement of this one and stayed in the car!!
RAF Chenies was an R8 Ground Control Intercept (GCI) radar station (code HAM) built in the 1950's as part of the post war ROTOR Programme. While most post war GCI stations utilised an existing WW2 site, Chenies was a green field site.
Had to smile to myself..when I got here,there was a BT engineer working on the weather station,so I asked him if I could take a look around..he said I had 30 mins..its the fastest explore ever!!!
We visited 2010,but now in 2012,its all gone sadly.
