RAF Upwood Aug 2015

Final stop on the little weekend roadtrip, we drove some distance to RAF Upwood, a place I had always wanted to have a wander around but never got it nailed down on a trip until now. Once we established there were no airsoft events going on we quickly found entry and got wandering with the first objective being to locate the tanks. Whilst walking to them we saw a couple of teenage guys doing some free-running stuff as well as a group of three girls who looked no older than 14 or 15 having a wander around so felt pretty comfortable on site.

The place has been covered a lot previously with the history well covered so I'll just get right into the photos. A lot of the buildings are very samey and all totally empty except the modern medical centre which is absolutely trashed but has some nice lights still inside.

It reminded me of the hospital at Upper Heyford with how dark it was inside but waaaay more trashed, they really didn't hang around with it. I found the rest of the site much more appealing albeit empty, I really don't like modern abandonments like the medical centre haha.

Yep remember secca being on the gate and had maintenance guys wandering around doing bits.

Awesome pictures mate, meant to go there myself last weekend but discovered there was a 1940s weekend on there... of all weekends I planned to go haha!
