Oh boy this place has been a long time coming for me!
Visited with Landie Man as part of the 'Harry bought some Land Rover wheels from North Norfolk' weekender, I could have happily spent the entire weekend here but we did have other things to attend to as well as a very long drive home. So I need to go back very soon to see the main base! In my opinion this is the best derelict RAF base in the country by some way, it's amazingly undamaged by idiots and has shedloads of natural decay thrown in. If it wasn't four hours drive from me I'd be there so much more.
As we were pushed for time and light trying to fit everything in we only hit the 'tourist' buildings which so happen to be the best ones apparently - the restaurant and officer's mess, as well as one of the 'H' shaped accomodation blocks. I absolutely loved this place, once we got into the restaurant I had one of those 'I can't believe I'm finally here' moments. It was quite nervy in the officers mess as there was an unexpected number of people walking around the outside while we were inside, and many of the rooms are very exposed so we had to be extra careful but all was good in the end.
Anyway on with the photos as I'm sure that's all you are interested in.
