Following on from our nocturnal visit HERE, we decided to make another visit in the daylight to get a better feel for the area.
On the team this time was Hood_Mad, Captain slow and myself.
The site.
The main gate.
The guard hut.
Pier to the west of the Depot.
Someone had done a good job on the fence, that frame was whole when we passed it the other night.
Upon entering the site, we spotted the large set of metal steps near the guard hut.
After some choice words from slow about "rusty steps" and "It'll never hold you" I started to make my way up, Hood following. To be fair, the steps are screwed, a couple of times they swayed and I had to walk on the edges of the steps all the way up. The undergrowth makes it difficult to get up, but there is a reward at the top in the form of a pill box and two large reservoirs.
Top of the reservoir with three drain covers. The two outer are the two tanks and the middle is the controls and mixer valves.
The water outlet down to the tunnels / site.
The incoming supply, just think toilet bowl ballcock idea.
Once we'd had a look down inside the reservoirs, we headed back down to the main gate and we met up with CS again who'd been taking some photos of the guard hut.
We made our way over to the officers quarters.
Hood keeping watch.
The comms and paint / flammables store.
Back over to the pier.
Two unsavouries with an air rifle, lol.
Might have been them at the fence as they went out that way.
All the floors in the quarters are safe as they are reinforced concrete.
Slow and Hood.
Radio room.
Phone switchboard rack.
Gyp..... ahem Travellers had been at it again, big holes in the ground where the 3 phase cable had been ripped up.
Building with an unknown use..... Anyone??
The council cabin with the large drain mentioned in the other report.
The Gulf community running track with wheelspin marks, some car had fun on this.
Must have gone through some electricity keeping this place lit.

After looking at the sheds, we moved onto the area with the tunnels and found three more by following the narrow gauge railway sidings. I was under the impression there were six tunnels, we found three more and after a bit more research, it looks like there were 12 in total. I've maked the nine we found on the map along with the other points of interest.
Longest tunnel on the site??
Getting dark now, but these are the tunnels we didn't know about.
It was a tad bit chilly down on the site, one of the pools was fully iced up.
We will have to get down here again to find the remaining three tunnels, if anyone knows the location, it would be appreciated if they could point them out for us. There's a bigger copy of this on the PB account.
