SSI Redcar Power Station. January 2016

[ACID-REFLUX]

Continuing the theme of reports from various members of this now sadly redundant  but in no uncertain terms....Epic Industrial site that just keeps giving 

Obviously this one concerns the on-site Power Station, which was powered ironically by using the by-products from the nearby Blast Furnace & Coke ovens, which in turn provided power for the site itself. Consisting of 3 Boilers & 6 Turbines of varying age & design ( I"ve not found much online TBH )

Visited with @Raz after a last minute decision to either :-

A. Go outside & make a Snowman 

B. Get Pissed in Pontefract  :-o

Or

C. Spend his Birthday with an old bloke running round SSI Redcar playing hide & seek with Secca & trying to find the Control Room they had missed hours earlier.

Luckily for him it was C.  even though he"d visited less than 24hrs earlier  young-uns full of energy.  :zombie

So thanks for that mate & fun times were had along the way, even if you did repeatedly burn my eyes out

I don"t know what the fuss is about control rooms TBH i prefer the big machinery any day but deffo something for everyone here
