St Margarets Bay 2010

Anyone know what this was access to ?, Its at St Margarets Bay car park on the right hand side (with your back facing the water) in the cliff face about 10ft up or so

Looks to me like the top of a stairwell that used to be, Itd be nice to know where it went or what it connected to

Interesting, never seen this before. I know most things hidden up there.

I can shed some light on this, they are oil storage tanks from the days of whale oil, there were some very grand Victorian homes and there are 3 or 4 of these tanks hidden along there.This picture shows where the houses once stood.

Ah so thats what they are. I had a look at the military site maps of the area and couldn't work out what it was.
