The swimming pool was built in 1971. It complemented the Pankow outdoor pool, which was built in the late 1950s with the help of Pankow citizens and opened on July 9, 1960 as "Berlin's most modern outdoor pool".
The swimming pool consisted of a 25m swimmer pool, a 12 x 8.5 m non-swimmer pool and a sauna in the basement. It made it possible for the citizens of Pankow to enjoy swimming and relaxation even in winter.
In 1996 the indoor swimming pool and the adjoining open-air pool were taken over by the Berliner Bäderbetriebe.
In 2000, the bathing company renovated the outdoor pool and reopened it as the Pankow summer pool in summer 2001. Unfortunately, nothing more came of the previously announced renovation of the swimming pool: it was - like numerous other pools in Berlin - closed by the pool operators with reference to the costs.
it seems, certainly in Berlin test if it’s empty; trash it!
If it doesn’t move spray it
Or both!
