The 12.6 acre former woollen textile mill complex was established in 1790 by the Fox family, Tonedale Mill was the largest integrated mill in the South West, producing woollen and worsted fabrics. We visited in 2011 and there are plans to convert this into apartments..will never forget the Cops being called by a curtain twitcher, meeting me and Tommo right outside after we left the site..am sure they didnt believe our story about us not having been inside!!
Loved this place very much, but we also loved the Tone Mill factory up the river..thats one helluva museum piece.
Many thanks for viewing.
