This building was actually a single room schoolhouse, and on Sundays, the chairs were turned and it served as a chapel to the small hamlet of Bedham. It was built in 1880 and abandoned in about 1960.
A nice casual explore, and one I have wanted to see for a while.
Thanks...
Another site from mine and Landie's Northern trip...
Sadly Loxley Chapel itself has been well sealed so we made do with a little wander around the attached burial ground. Whilst it's not totally abandoned, indeed we saw a pair of groundsmen clearing space around one of the walkways and there...
The first look outside is of the old chapel covered by ivy and vines
The tower has a ladder from the roof to the clock face which got my interest, the cemetery was busy so I waited for five minutes until the nearby mourners moved away and was in like a ferret up a drain pipe
The floor inside...
Info pinched off net..

THE INCEPTION OF TOXTETH PARK CEMETERY
The "Burial Board" of Toxteth Park initially purchased thirty acres of land, from The Earl of Sefton, at a cost of around £15.000, approximately £850.000 in todays money . William Gay of Bradford was charged with...
2013:
I assume this is still here as the development of the school swamps it
2012:
Well here is the report of the chapel I didn't manage to get into before. Access was available this time round.

2012:
I have been wanting to get inside this since 2009, and TBM managed to get us (Me, His girlfriend, my girlfriend and me) some permission as its has always been tight.
Please excuse some of the pissed shots, I'm getting used to a tripod with no spider...
Another one of my birthday splores with SK, brilliant day and this was a lovely one. We only ventured in to the chapel as the light was fading. My pics aren't that great as was still getting to grips with the lens.

Ok, here we go, first post...
After an epic fail in May 2012, we decided to do a re-visit in october.
Luckily for us, it was accessible again.
Let me first start with a bit of the history from this cool place;
This classic protestant church has been build between 1796 - 1797 and was designed...
Built in 1875 and is part of a complex of buildings that was once an orphanage dedicated to St Michael which opened in 1869.
Splored with SK, Tommo and Klempner
The floor is insulated with years of pigeon shit and you really wouldn't want to go the the scaffold supported tower either
Was not going to do a report on this as to be honest it's rather small ,but its always been locked down tight when ive visited the remains of the asylum so when it came to my attention that it was indeed doable with a hour or so to kill before myself and UrbanGinger went elsewhere would be rude...
Skeleton Key and myself set off to London for an explore that we had tried a fortnight earlier and failed to gain access.
We had an hour or so to burn before darkness and I remembered a derelict chapel that I had seen a week or so before.
Tottenham Park Cemetery is a small private burial...
