Prisoner of War Camp 116 was set up in 1941 to house Italian prisoners of war, and from 1943-1944 it mainly held German and Austrian prisoners.
Camp 116 (Mill Lane Camp, Hatfield Heath) conforms to the so-called ‘Standard’ layout.
Seeing as this was only my 2nd time of going out I wasn't...
With the Mrs still away I picked up a none member to have a look at another farm I had been given, we got there to find it was a no go, so we headed off towards one of the places I didn't have time for a few days before.
I must have passed this place quite a few times of late and always...
My Mrs had deserted me and gone off on holiday without me and I was board after a hour after she had gone, a couple of texts later and I was on the M4 heading west, the problem was that with the weather everyone else was and heading for the coast. I had set the satnav for the location (Next...
A recently closed down spa hotel/retreat near the Belgian coast, in a lovely little town. Not much to say really other than we found the noisiest way in possible but all was good in the end. Quite empty with most of the hotel rooms looking the same but it has a gorgeous swimming pool/spa area...
a Powerplant, running on diesel. The lights inside were still burning, the smell of diesel was still there. When we were inside a thunderstorm was above the plant, and water was leeking inside. Noises everywhere, adding some extra sensation to our visit :D

Ahh how I love my Farms and cottages!
Recent drive through the countryside in search of some derps, I was heading for a cottage I hoped would be a potential and passed this on route. The place I was looking to explore happened to still be lived in, so a what was going to be a quick stop here...
This was quite a cool day - one of five explores all within easy reach of our gaff. This is a farm house perched by a beautiful lake. Large, dark and eerie it was pretty much trashed but with some interesting views inside. It transpires that this isnt abandonned as it's owned by quite an...
So here is the second site of mine and Mookies mad few days. Bearing in mind I’ve been too busy to do photo reports of late.
Extensive History, borrowed from Merlin's report:
History of the National Institute for Research in Dairying
The need for farm land at agricultural research...
After a very disappointing start to the day my nephew and me headed to the end of West Wales in search of a maybe derelict farm I had found. I have go no information on the place but it was for sale about 10 years ago) I was not even sure if there would be anything inside and to be honest, there...
There was this farm that looked as if it could be abandoned. So I went to check. You can't really know. Sometimes they look completely on their last legs and it turns out people still live there, or at least use them for something. And sometimes they look quite fine, but are long since...
This has to be some of the most interesting outbuildings I have seen, lots of bits and bobs left behind. Good job too as the house was well sealed.

Day 2 of the tour..........
After the win that was the CDC we decided to do 2 residential places, our first place was suspended due to the stupid amount of traffic outside of it, so we thought we would do Tapioca whilst waiting for the traffic to die down.
For me this was one of favourite...
In rural aereas of Norway there are a lot of abandoned farms and derelict farm buildings. A lot. Some farms abandoned completely, more often one or several buildings no longer maintained and falling apart. A vast number of barns, because it's no longer run as a farm, people just live there. And...
Old McDonalds Farm, visited with Banshee, nice to meet you at last!
Well.... what to say about this place.... it's an old farm and attached house and it's somewhere that for whatever reason hasn't really been explored in the past, despite being connected to a well known location and no doubt...
