This was a bit of a whim, I wasn't even sure if it was still abandoned. All I knew was it looked the nuts.
Proj3ct M4yh3m and Andy K were unsure of how good it could be until we pulled up outside. Still unsure of the status of the site we wandered towards the grand chateau getting in each...
A large prison in France that closed in 2011.
It had space for 1500 inmantes and supposedly its split into male and female sections however I am not fully sure if this is a fact.
There was quite a bit of graffitti here and I think some of it added to the location.

It was a lucky chance find on the way of a tour.
Judging by documents abandoned since 2003 and much grown from the outside, so that the house has obviously entered no one for years. Inside a wealth of details and above all countless spiderwebs along with their cute builders - both in living...
A large chateau in France had been abandoned for sometime. Sadly I can't find much history on the place. It has recently been sold for 500k and hopefully renovations will start soon.

This was originally an invite kindly offered by Mr Jobs for me and the wife, the wife had to decline due to ill health so i jumped at the chance of 3 days under paris with a bunch of strange chaps in waders.
Was picked up by Maniac along with non member Mr perry to then head to dover to meet...
The history of the castle from the 18th century dates back to the 12th century. Last it was used as a sanatorium.

Château Lumiere, France
Visited with: PG UE, Nick Whitworth and Scott Chadwick.
Visit date: November 2014

History
Château Lumiere was built in the early...
Beziers is a small town in the south of France, after failing at various derelict buildings in the town centre I set my sights upon this stadium out of town (which isn't derelict by the way). My aim was to find a way up onto the roof simply for the hell of it. I scoped it out during the day and...
I visited Beziers in the south of France last week. It was almost as if they were expecting me, every building I explored last time was sealed and I couldn't get into any others, of which there are many. So, I headed out of town to an industrial area my brother suggested and it didn't take me...
Hello,
My first exploration : a sugar beet distillery closed since more than 40 years. Inside is empty except one piece of furniture down the stairs. I haven't climbed to the floors, holes in the roof since years ago and wooden floors dissuaded me.
(PS : i hope my english is comprehensible)...
Set in spacious grounds on the outskirts of a quaint French village resides Chateau De Faisans. Built in the late 19th century it has quite a classic look with one turret which encases a spiral staircase.
Some beautiful ornate features include a large internal glass dome above the main...
The first attempt to visit it two years ago failed.
This summer again eight hours of driving and arrival in the middle of the night in the pouring rain. But it was worth it.

A last ditch on a not so successful day. Chose to take a gamble and miss the train, I think it paid off.
Hidden in a large industrial estate is this lonely hotel. At the top of the stairs is a room full of bats!!
Anyway some grand decay and nice stairs. WIN!

Atlantic wall.
Discovered these whilst driving west of Calais whilst waiting for my ferry back to the UK
No idea what this used to be - there are a few of these in the landscape & most have been taken over by the local farmers.

This fairy tale Chateau is situated in the Haute Vienne, Dept 87 above Limoges. It's easy to find and quite spectacular. Loft to rot 1949 it still has some amazingly extravagant carvings which only highlight how much money must have been spent on it .
There are some great pictures of how it...
The first stop on second stop on my first Euro tour. I was surprised we had the place to ourselves on a Saturday morning.
Owners of a tobacco family suilt this stunning chateau and I believe the last resident was a well known philatelist.
