Former boys school long closed after Esther Ranzten exposed it as a hot bed for amorous teachers, I went to check it out with what appeared to be half of the forum.
4am start but pretty happy with how some of these have come out.
As always, pointers and suggestions would be welcome...
This is the newer of the buildings on this site. Only the foundations of the original building remain after it was burnt down shortly after this building was completed. Sadly there is planning for it to be demolished and rebuilt the planning has changed recently to a smaller building due to lack...
Afternoon all,
Did this place in 2012 and did enjoy the place. I know some of you know it as red dress manor. We did the usual and got in there before sunrise so went for a wander around and then sat in the dark for hour.
On with some photos. Already seen some crackers on here so will shaare...
Named Frog Manor because of the frogs living in the cellar. This amazing old house, tucked away in Hertfordshire in a busy area was largely empty but still had lots of character. Once home to a nice old lady who was very influential in her community. I hear this is now sealed tight and totally...
I got the chance to see this place with SK, and it was amazing. With the most gorgeous chimney's and fire places i have ever seen.
I could have just moved right in.
Thanks SK for the external shot
Thanks for looking
Evening all,
Visited very early in January via a kitchen window and head first until we realised the side door was open. It was early but at the risk of disturbing the guy who lived there, we plumped for the window :)
Not sure on history but it was a nice place. I know people who have been...
Evening all,
For those who have managed this one may agree with me that this place is a favourite in terms of UK places.
I remember when it first arrived and then quickly left again and then came back in June - all in 2012. I knew I had to get this one if I didn't get another. Due to several...
Well known and stunning.
I actually think this place has now been given go ahead to be restored... Good news!
A great little trundle through the countryside, a sneaky way into someones back garden, through the cellar, up through rotting floorboards and we were in!
Love this manor house, if...
A solo visit to a farm/manor house. I got seen eventually and gave a tall tale to the worker from the opposite farm. Thought I got away scott free, until the local police called my house phone and asked me what I was doing. Seems like that worker took the registration plate of my car. Idiot lol...
This place is fantastic, if slightly bare, but the architecture and space makes up for it!!
It was once a nursing home, then a school, then a private manor house. If converted I think it will become a nursing home once again!
Loved it here. not sure if converted yet!

Probably the best manor house I've ever visited, and it's close to being one of the best locations I've been to...Simply amazing!
Hope you like it. It has recently been sealed but I would love to go back.

Great little manor, the outside, not so good. the Inside... wow; you wouldn't expect it. Unfortunately some bits are very dark as there are boards on the windows and it would look shit light painting them, so I skipped them. My friend OldSkool cleaned up the entrance hall for his shot...
Hi all,
Just thought I'd shove a random older one up for you to look at.
Haven't seen many shots from here, the grand house was partly lived in and the servants quarters were the first stop on a rainy morning to this place. There was also a house on the way in but I didn't feel inspired to...
Visited with NeonNine and Anoxia
This place has an incredible history which is quite deep if you ask me!
I found out after visiting that in the years gone by this house was owned by a family as you may of guessed, one of the family members died, leaving it to two other member, one being money...
Explored with one other non member, Well what a wonderful place this is, It is full of amazing features that gave it the wow factor, Its a shame its been left to fall apart really wish the owner would do something to save it
Explored with 4 other non members
What a strange explore this was, We all had an uneasy feeling that someone was watching us, within 10mins of gaining access there was a police helicopter hovering above the building don't think it was actually there for us but it sure freaked us out lol, after...
Sadly long gone this was a good mooch for a local site :sad2:
Croggons tannery ran from 1712 to 2002. Tanning took a long time. After washing, hides were placed in lime solution for two to three weeks to remove hair. Hides were then laid flat in vats with oak bark (or ground Turkish acorns...
