History borrowed:
Cwm Coke’s origins lie with the Great Western Railway and it’s insatiable hunger for coal. The GWR sunk pits at the Cwm site in 1909 as well as in other areas of the Rhondda, but Cwm didn’t become known for it’s coke until 1958 when the coking ovens...

In a previous report from 2009 I found that this site was originally Fison's Peat Works and was then taken over by Levingtons followed by Scotts and the site closed down in 2001.
The Fision's name has been confirmed via much online research and I also found separately the following:

Pic heavy!!
Explored with AndrewB at the crack of dawn, which seemed the key to getting into the site unnoticed, at least at that time as the access was pretty 'public'!
This was from the same rare breed of industrial sites as Tone Mills and Cranes Foundry, the pretty much untouched time...
Soda Ash has been produced on this site since 1874, although the existing works are no where near that old, they are still pretty old. Brunner Mond became part of ICI in 1926 and the separated out again in 1991. They were brought by Tata Chemicals in 2006 and re-branded as such.
There is...

I'm sure you all know this place first hand, it was a very popular place and it's had a lot of Urbex traffic pass through it.
Visited with Rusty on a Sheffield day trip back in September 2011
A real cool old place, I'm not sure of it's current status.

This was the last port of call on our 2 day trip to Wales. After a less than sound nights sleep in the car which in my opinion was worse than sleeping at Pool Park the night before we headed in not long after the sun had started coming up ,which would explain some of the shots!Really liked this...
Just in case any of you are getting the wrong impressions of my report-posting tendencies, normal non-posting status will likely be resumed within the near future. I'd be loathed to get your hopes up unwittingly, you see. With this in mind, please accept my humble and sincere apologies for this...
