I’m sure you have all seen pictures popping up on various forums, FB and flickr, and so had I! When I saw it it was a place I had to visit. Luckily I got a message from my Dutch friends about a great new location they’d got details of and, low and behold, it was the same thing. The next thing I did was book the chunnel up pronto and went over that weekend.

After a painful drive through some French farm roads to the north of Paris we got there and got in at first light. It was pretty dark inside even up on the top floors, but as it got lighter we saw what we had all wanted!

I know very little about the site, other than what I’ve heard on the grapevine, that the owner is in Costa Rica (??) Judging by whats left in the place music and amateur radio seemed to play a big part in the owners interests.

Oh, and I heard that some Belgian explorers had been busted not too far away from here by the gendarmerie who followed their car and then pulled their guns on them!

Anyway on with the pics:

This really is stunning and like a little treasure trove. I have seen this pop up a lot lately and every time I look at a report I see something new (y)

I really like the staircase, especially the little ornate pieces at the top and bottom of each post. The kitchen shot is really nice too, lots of original features and some natural decay and peely paint too. Cant really go wrong with this. 28 stands out for being a face, always looking for 'urbex faces' haha. Really lovely shots, enjoyed your report (y)

Yep, there's loads of stuff here. The owners must have been hoarders.. magazines and papers from the war quite of which are still unread and folded as they would have been originally. I started reading one from 1944 which had an article about the French Resistance!

Oh and this quality bit of .....gentlemen's literature from 1938 :read:

Awesome place, absolutely fantastic.

I've heard some guys have recently been caught there - and it was expensive. But I don't know, if it's just a rumor or real.
