Rookwood Hospital
Rookwood Hospital is a rehabilitation hospital situated in Llandaff, in the city of Cardiff in South Wales. It is managed by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. More history.
I think it closed due to structural failures, perhaps relating to RAAC as there was scaffolding led up to cracks in the ceiling at various points. A couple buildings are still functioning, but seperated from the overgrown wing we were targeting.
Saw this in December or January on Facebook, immediately found out where it was although it was codenamed! The people that had been hadn't really covered it much, and had ran at the first sight of security. Figured there could be other bits they hadn't managed, and that our delirious, military briefed 6 man squadron would be more sneaky than the two people they had. Turns out we were and we got around fairly easily on the second try. Security had been ramped up since it was posted the day of, so certain areas like the old manor house at one end of the site were impossible to do undetected. However, we saw the majority of it. There was a dentist room that was locked, and as much as we tried to work our way beyond the sealed door, we weren't able to. Saw it recently with a nice enough chair in there. Shame.
