Another from the weekender in Belgium
Another belting religious site, much to see and shoot, really got a thing for churches at the moment.

The building, which was completed in 1846, was designed by J B Cantrill and is Early English style with a gothic tower. It cost £3,700.
In 1997, soon after the 150th Anniversary, it was found that the ceiling and roof were unsafe. The church closed quickly for repairs and the congregation met...
had a great weekend of non stop exploring (between naps) with 2 great guys !!
This was (I think) my favourite location of the entire trip, the level of decay and the ambiance of the place was exactly what I was after and boy did it deliver.
No history for obvious reasons but enjoy

I'm just back from a very enjoyable holiday in the hills above Lucca in Tuscany, Italy. The villa we were staying in had a fascinating surprise in store for us. The villa came with it's own abandoned chapel. It was quite small and the rafters and the vestibule were inhabited by a colony of...
Been a while due to house move and a few other bits and bobs.
Nice solo explore this afternoon, place is a mess but was good to get out with the camera again
Cheers

Visited with Hamtagger
After a recce 2 days previous we were itching to scale the Cathedral walls like ninjas. With cameras surrounding the building and nosey neighbours in every house, we knew we needed to be careful. The fact that the building is 700 years old made me a bit paranoid that if...
This Catholic church was completed in 1853 in what was originally quite a heavily populated area however due to the war damage and continuing slum clearances in the post war the church lost much of its congregation as the district was rebuilt as a business area. In 1998 it finally closed when a...
Visited this one with Goldie and not a bad place at all really. There is a bit of trashing and it looks like it has been worked on over the years but it more than makes up for that with it's features like the ceilings and stained glass.
founded in 1853 and greatly expanded over its early years...
Our second place for the day. I have been in loads of church's and while this was quite nice and had a few bits n pieces in there, for some reason couldn't get on with the place. So as we had another 20 odd miles to our next port of call I wasn't here for that long.
A few more can be found here...
A castle has been built on this site since the 9th century and the site has a rich history. It was destroyed, rebuilt and destroyed again and this has continued during the centuries.
The current castle was built at the end of the 18th century and has always been in hands of counts and dukes...
The Squatters
I spotted this abandoned church a couple of weeks ago in South London and decided to pop back for a nose around this week. On seeing some bed sheets hanging out to dry around the back I realised there must be squatters living in there, then hey presto three squatters arrived home...
History unknown to me, but the name "gravestone" is because in the center of the church, there have diggings. There was a underground burriel place, and they opened it for research, but never closed it down.
Now its the home to loads of pigeons, as you can smell inside.

I visited this treacherous site in the dark with a friend (ACID- REFLUX from 28DL) who took one for the team by going through the rotten floorboards just before we left :D
The main attraction of this place for me was the rumour of 10 hidden paintings by the Sheffield based street artist...
