Well this was a bit of an old location by time I got to visit. Still in quite good condition though. The locals do seem quite protective of it.
Set in a quiet town I guess this was the local doctors house. Not easy to find much history and it is quite well documented already. So on with the...
Yesterday we went to visit Val Benoit University. Here are some shots. I still have a lot to learn but we had a lot of fun exploring this building. Tips , advice and constructive criticism is always welcome! :thumb :)

The history of the castle from the 18th century dates back to the 12th century. Last it was used as a sanatorium.

Evening all,
A very small, but beautiful round chapel in the Italian countryside was visited as part of our trip in November. Beauty of a ceiling which is the main event as its a brief stop judging by the photos I've seen before of this.
Visited with Dursty, John and Mike.

This building from the early 20th century is well known, but inside with beautiful decay. So I've visited it two times. In war time used as a military hospital, and later as a spa hotel and recreation home.

A power plant from a former paper mill, which was closed in the 90s. I’ve visited this place four times, but most of my pictures aren’t processed yet. These photos are from July 2013, wich shows absolutely not everything from this big area.

I discovered the castle from the 18th century, a few years ago on an aerial view on the internet. But somehow it got then forgotten again, so I visited it just more than a year later.
Later, I talked with a woman from the village who knew to tell interesting details about the castle (which I do...
These are my first "real" (conscious / aware) Photos from an abandoned place.
I've took them 23 years ago, in 1991 (I'm getting old ... ;) ).
It was an abandoned mansion with a chapel in Trier / Germany (today it is restored).
The image quality is not very good. But I think it might be...
Evening all,
On our run of countries visited this year, one of our trips on the way to see Budzludzha saw us visiting a few other locations.
Pretty much in the same condition as the mig school but the sheep were using the ground floor.
Not much left and had to be really creative with what was...
Already built in the late 19th century. Also political prisoners were incarcerated here. Mid-20th century it was closed and used as a museum. Abandoned and in decay since the Romanian Revolution of 1989.
Normally the prison is guarded and not easily unseen accessible, because the guardian lives...
The first attempt to visit it two years ago failed.
This summer again eight hours of driving and arrival in the middle of the night in the pouring rain. But it was worth it.

Evening all,
Another report this weekend from a brief visit at the end of the day. The light was leaving us fast and we had to be quick as we had about an hours worth of daylight left to shoot this place.
We had a bit of a drive to get to the last 2 day's worth of locations that we had planned...
