The sanatorium was built around 1910 and closed in 1978.
Before I had it already 4 times on the list, but ultimately never enough time for a visit. This weekend it finally worked. :)
It was gratifying to see that only in one area of a staircase graffiti could be seen. Architecture and decay...
This nursing home (located in a forest and built on the foundations of an estate from the 18th century) was closed in 2001. 2013 burnt down a part of the attic.
My first visit here was 2008. The photos are from 2011 (part one) and 2012 (part two).

It was a lucky chance find on the way of a tour.
Judging by documents abandoned since 2003 and much grown from the outside, so that the house has obviously entered no one for years. Inside a wealth of details and above all countless spiderwebs along with their cute builders - both in living...
Went here with the usual crew Katia, born2misbehave, Jammin, shush and Toby. This was the first on the list of places for the day and what a way to start, there was plenty left behind in this house and if you see my flickr the pocket watches were my favourit things in the house. cant put a date...
One of my favourites from mine and Katia's trip to Germany last year. There wasn't a lot left here and it had a lot of graffiti inside it but it was worth it for the morgue I think. We got in early because its was in quite a nice up market area and we would have stood out in the day haha. It had...
A former trading venue / Chamber of Commerce (built in the 16th century, then destroyed and rebuilt during the 18th century).
Architecturally one of the most interesting objects that I have photographed in recent years.

Only a nighttime photo stop, but with a bit of snow and in front of the stars a great backdrop. Although it was cooled considerably, but I wanted to take this image. Although several tries were necessary for this purpose and also exposure times of two to four minutes. For the backside shot, we...
Built in the mid-19th century.
Even if it inside partially looks like, it was never a castle, but from the beginning to a hospital.
The church is protected by alarm, therefore in good condition (it was an approved visit).

The mausoleum in the forests of Poland was built in the mid 19th century in neo-gothic style. Today it is plundered and in decay.

I think almost everyone knows it now. The monument on the 1441 m high mountain was opened in 1981 to the 1300 anniversary of the founding of the state of Bulgaria by the Communist Party (Socialist Workers Party). It's the largest ideologically motivated building in the country.
After a 2.5 hour...
The castle was built in the 18th century. During World War II it was occupied by German troops and eventually used as mother-child home. After the war it was among other things used as an orphanage.

The hospital in Melton Mowbray started life as Hill House and was built pre 1760. In 1840 Colonel Charles Wyndham moved to the area due to his passion for fox hunting and rented Hill House. He changed the name to Wyndham Lodge in traditional hunting fashion.
It was later purchased by William...
North Leamington School, Cloister Way buildings
Visited Jan 2015
The Lower School here was closed in 2009 when a modern replacement school opened on one site nearby. Planning for housing and a new residential home was given in 2009 but both seem to be in limbo at the moment. The site is now...
Evening all,
Not getting through stuff very quickly as per usual. Means I have a lot to process which keeps me occupied for months but creates a bit of a backlog.
This place in the Italian countryside was visited during our first of two trips to Italy in the latter part of 2014. No history but...
The property was built only in the 1920s, later it was used as an agricultural school. In parts destroyed by a fire and abandoned in the mid-80s.
